Your Journey, Day by Day:

Day 1 : Johannesburg
Upon arrival at the Johannesburg Airport, go through passport control, collect your luggage and proceed through customs. Walk toward the exit and through the glass sliding doors into the Arrivals Hall where you will be met by your Ntaba guide holding a name board. Your guide will walk with you to the City Lodge O.R. Tambo Hotel which is conveniently located next to the airport. Check in for 1 night on a Bed & Breakfast basis. Dinner is on your own account.

Johannesburg is one of Africa’s largest and most vibrant cities. It is an economic powerhouse in Africa and the gateway to Southern Africa. This bustling city offers a wide range of activities, attractions and plenty to do in and around the city including nearby Pretoria. Downtown is a multi-cultural mixture of traditional medicine shops, Chinese restaurants, taxi ranks and ultra-modern skyscrapers. There are excellent museums, art galleries and organised tours of historical and political interest. The shopping is Southern Africa’s best and the many restaurants cater for all tastes. Soweto, a township steeped in history and a significant part of the Greater Johannesburg metropolitan area, is a popular tourist destination.

Day 2: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

Wild Horizons Zambezi Dinner Cruise

After breakfast, check out and walk to the Johannesburg Airport Terminal B to check in for your flight to Victoria Falls. This is an international flight, so check-in time is 3 hours prior to departure. 

Be sure to have your $30.00 in cash to pay for your single-entry Zimbabwe visa when you arrive at the Victoria Falls Airport. Go through passport control, collect your luggage, and proceed through customs.

Be met at the airport and transferred to the Samanzi to check into your Cabana room for 3 nights. You can order a light lunch at the Lodge (on your own account). 

Later this afternoon be transferred to the Zambezi River for an unforgettable luxury Sunset Dinner Cruise on the Malachite vessel. Enjoy the abundant wildlife and the beautiful sunset scenes. A three-course meal and drinks are served along the way.

Return to the Lodge around 8:30 pm.

**The day and order of activities in Victoria Falls may change based on availability when confirming.

It is set on the magnificent Zambezi River which creates the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. These spectacular falls can be easily visited and viewed from the Zimbabwean side. Considered to be the world’s widest waterfalls, Victoria Falls measures an impressive 1708 metres in width. The small town of Victoria Falls, which lies adjacent to the waterfalls, serves as a great base from which to explore the many attractions this area of Zimbabwe has to offer. The surrounding area provides a wide range of adrenalin-filled activities for adventure lovers. Visitors can look forward to an array of wonderful activities including: scenic flights, micro lighting, white water rafting, bungee jumping, kayaking, and once-in-a-lifetime expeditions into the incredible Chobe National Park.

 

Day 3: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)

Wild Horizons Elephant Sanctuary

Enjoy breakfast at the Lodge. After breakfast, depart for a visit the local craft market for shopping.

At 10:30 am, transfer to the Wild Horizons Elephant Sanctuary for an opportunity to interact with the elephants that live there! Learn about the elephants and how they came to be in the Sanctuary. Witness the special relationship the staff share with the elephants and become a part of it. You will meet the elephants at the Wallow Deck and have the opportunity to interact, pet, feed, and capture photo moments with the gentle giants. Marvel at the opportunity to meet these beautiful grey giants up close and personal!
After the encounter with these amazing creatures enjoy lunch at the sanctuary. 

Return to your Lodge for some free time.
Have dinner at Samanzi

Wild Horizons Elephant Sanctuary Ntaba African Safaris Wild Horizons Elephant Sanctuary for an opportunity to interact with the elephants that live there! Learn about the elephants as well as their history and how they came to be in the Sanctuary as well as the threats facing elephant populations today in an interesting and informative talk. You will meet the elephants at the wallow deck and will then be provided an opportunity to interact, pet, feed, and capture photo moments with the gentle giants as well as witness the special relationship the staff shares with the elephants and become a part of it. Marvel at the opportunity to meet these beautiful gray giants up close and personal!

Day 4: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe)
Bamba Tram | Victoria Falls – The Falls | The Lookout Café

After an early wake up, go back in time with a railway tram ride aboard the Bamba Tram at sunrise! (Pick-up time is currently scheduled for 5:20 am but could change slightly. Please check with your Lodge reception desk the day before to confirm what the exact pick-up time will be for the Bamba Tram.)

Transfer to the railway station. Begin your journey through the Zambezi National Park watching for game along the way. Pass the entrance to the rainforest before crossing the Zimbabwe border post. Make your way onto the Historic Victoria Falls Bridge where you stop for refreshments at a Tea and Coffee setup station. Take a short, guided tour of the bridge, the Zambian knife-edge peninsula, and the Railway Museum. Learn about the history of the railway and the building of this bridge. Be sure to bring your camera for the most incredible photo opportunities.

Return to the Lodge for a full breakfast.

After lunch, depart with your driver guide for a walking tour of the spectacular Victoria Falls.
Return to the lodge.

This evening, be transferred to the Lookout Cafe for dinner with magnificent views of the Batoka Gorge below.

Day 5: Cape Town
V&A Waterfront | Cape Town

After breakfast, be transferred to the Victoria Falls Airport and check in for your flight to Cape Town, South Africa. Upon arrival at the Cape Town International Airport, go through passport control and customs, and collect your luggage. Be met by a representative in the Arrivals Hall holding a name board and transferred to your hotel in Cape Town, the Portswood Hotel, conveniently located on the famous Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.

Check into your standard room for 3 nights on a Bed & Breakfast basis.

Enjoy a free evening, with dinner on your own account.

Day 6: Cape Town
Table Mountain | Groot Constantia Wine Farm
Groot Constantia Cellar | Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens

After breakfast, with your private driver & guide, visit Table Mountain via the Cable Car (weather permitting), the World’s new Seventh Wonder, or visit Signal Hill (if weather does not allow a visit to Table Mountain’s summit).

Visit The Diamond Works for a diamond cutting demonstration. You will also find exquisitely unique hand-crafted jewelry pieces, authentic African craft, décor and gift items.

Take a City Tour and see some of the places of interest in South Africa’s “Mother City” before proceeding to the Groot Constantia Wine Estate, (or similar) for lunch and wine tasting of some of their locally grown wines. 

Next, visit Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy this beautiful garden and the diverse selection of local plants and flowers. At the exit of the garden is a gift shop worth browsing through.

Return to your hotel for a free evening. Spend some time at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront for shopping and other attractions.  Dinner is on your own account.

Day 7: Cape Town
Hout Bay | Chapman’s Peak | Cape Point
Boulders Beach | Simon’s Town
 
After breakfast, depart from your hotel with your private driver & guide. Travel along the beautiful coast to Hout Bay and along the spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive. Visit Cape Point, the most south-western point of the African Continent. Walk to the top of the mountain and enjoy the beautiful view of the ocean and the surrounding area. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant overlooking False Bay.

After lunch visit the local African Penguin Colony at Boulders Beach.

On your way back to town, stop in Simon’s Town, South Africa’s Naval Base, to visit the statue of “Just Nuisance” and hear the story about this legend.

Your guide will drop you off at your hotel. Enjoy a free evening, with dinner on your own account.

Cape Town private safari tour with Ntaba African Safaris – Hout Bay, Chapman’s Peak, Cape Point, Boulders Beach penguins, and False Bay views.

Days 8 – 10: Karongwe Private Game Reserve

After breakfast, be picked up from your hotel and be transferred to the Airport to check in for your flight to Hoedspruit in the Greater Kruger Park. Upon arrival at the Hoedspruit Airport, be met and transferred to the Becks Safari Lodge in the Karongwe Private Game Reserve. Check into your Deluxe Safari Suite for 3 nights. Enjoy lunch and your first game drive that afternoon. You will have the chance to see the Big 5 – elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard.

A typical day in the Game Reserve:
Each morning, expect an early wake-up call. Gather for refreshments before heading out at first light. The “big cats” may still be around after their night of hunting. Game drives are conducted in open game vehicles with your skilled ranger and tracker to find the animals of Africa for you to admire. Between your morning and afternoon game drives, have some free time to relax or be treated at the Spa. Late afternoon, convene for high tea, before departing for the day’s second African Bush Safari. Enjoy a sundowner drink along the way, get out of the vehicle to stretch your legs, and watch the sunset. Return to the Lodge for dinner.

Day 11: Overnight Travel

After your morning game drive and breakfast, check out and be transferred to Hoedspruit Airport to check in for your flight to Johannesburg. Upon arrival in Johannesburg at the OR Tambo International Airport, make your way to Terminal B to check in for your flight back home, arriving back home the following day.
