– Depart the USA for your flight to Accra, Ghana, flying into the Kotoka Intl Airport (ACC)
– Arrive at the Kotoka Intl Airport (ACC) in Accra, Ghana and transfer to the La Palm Beach Hotel to check-in for one night
– Sightseeing tour of Accra – visit several sights across the city
– After breakfast, you will visit Kakum National Park, one of West Africa’s few surviving tropical rain forests
– Afterwards, embark on a tour of the infamous Forts, Castles and Slave Dungeons of Ghana
– End the day’s tour by visiting the Elmina Castle (also known as St. George’s Castle) built by the Portuguese in 1482
– Check in for one night at the Coconut Grove Beach Resort on a bed and breakfast basis
– Transfer to Kumasi, the seat of the Ashanti Empire to explore the legends of the famous Ashanti people
– Visit the former slave market in Assin Manso
– Visit the site of “Donkor Nsuo”, the former Slave River and market
– Enjoy a drive through the city with monuments dedicated to the memory of the great Ashanti people
– Check out of your hotel and join your private driver/guide for a visit to the three craft villages: visit Ahwiaa, the woodcarvers’ village; Ntonso, the home of Adinkra cloth; and Bonwire, the Kente weaving village
– Check out of your hotel, meet your private driver/guide and depart Accra for Lome, Togo
– Check-in at the Sarakawa Hotel for one night on a bed and breakfast basis
– Go on a city tour of Lome
– Check out and depart with your guide for a visit to Ouidah, the cradle of African Traditional Religion, en-route to Cotonou
– Tour the temple dedicated to the sacred Python, which is believed to give vitality and protection
– Visit the Port of No Return; a monument built by the Benin Government to commemorate the Africans that were taken from the Dahomey Empire during the Slave Trade
– Visit Ganvie (the village on water), commonly referred to as the Venice of West Africa
– Enjoy shopping on the floating market and taking a relaxing canoe ride on the waterways of this exotic 300-year-old village
– After breakfast, depart Cotonou for Accra via Lome. Stopover at Lome for lunch on your own then continue to Accra
– After breakfast, be transferred to the Kotoka Intl Airport (ACC) for check-in and final departure back home
– Arrive back home
