4 days Gorilla tracking Safari – driving option
This amazing adventure takes us to Bwindi ‘The Impenetrable Forest’ in Uganda’s mountainous far southwestern tip where you will have the opportunity to track Mountain Gorillas.
Bwindi ‘the impenetrable forest’ home to one of the richest ecosystems in Africa. Mountain Gorillas are one of the world’s most endangered apes. It is estimated that there are only about 880 left throughout the world. Almost half of them can be found in Uganda, and populations can also be found in neighbouring Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo.
Arrival in Entebbe – Airport meet and greet and transfer to Papyrus Guesthouse – Entebbe (FB)
Depart Entebbe after breakfast to transfer to Nkuringo Gorilla Camp. The journey takes 9-11hours drive including lunch breaks and photographic opportunities as your drive to South West – Uganda, you will cross the Equator and stop for photos and coffee break.
Overnight at Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge– private en-suite cottage – (FB)
Gorilla tracking activity, certainly one of the most exciting days of your safari; today you will be gorilla tracking. Breakfast will be served early and lunch will be packed. The briefing is at 8 am. Your guide will give you highlights of specific details about the way of life of the gorillas you will be tracking. The hike can take anything from one to seven hours. Once you reach the gorillas, you are allowed to spend one hour with them as you stand 6 meters away
When you get back in the afternoon you can either rest your legs or go for a short community walk around the top of the world; the highest point in Nkuringo and used as a football pitch
Overnight at Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge – private en-suite cottage – (FB)
Return to Entebbe – with lunch stop at the Igongo Cultural Centre to then proceed to Entebbe – Overnight at Papyrus Guesthouse. – possible late night flight or morning flight transfer by guesthouse.
