While Table Mountain itself is globally famous as a New-7-Wonders of Nature, it’s formal UNESCO status comes from being a foundational part of the Cape Floral Region Protected Areas World Heritage Site. Table Mountain National Park protects a hyper-diverse ecosystem containing over 2,200 plant species.
Victoria Falls, known as “The Smoke that Thunders”, was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1989. It is celebrated as the world’s greatest sheet of falling water. This geological masterpiece creates a massive, thunderous column of iridescent mist and rainbows that can be seen from over 20 kilometres away, plunging into a series of dramatic basalt gorges.
The Kruger to Canyons Biosphere Reserve is located in North-Eastern South Africa, bridging the Low-veld and the adjacent Great Escarpment.
