“There are some trips you take… and then there are journeys that change you forever. Africa is one of those places. It reaches into your soul in ways that are impossible to explain until you experience it yourself. The landscapes, the wildlife, the people, the emotion of each moment—it becomes part of you.
Our journey began as we departed the United States and make our way across the world to Johannesburg, before continuing onward to magnificent Victoria Falls.
Standing before Victoria Falls is something that simply cannot be described in photographs or videos. Known as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, it is recognized as one of the most extraordinary natural places on Earth because of its breathtaking beauty, rarity, and significance. The “Seven Wonders of the World” are places considered so remarkable and awe-inspiring that they represent some of the greatest treasures our planet has to offer. And Victoria Falls absolutely deserves its place among them.
The roar of the water, the mist rising into the sky, and the sheer magnitude of the falls create a moment that humbles you instantly.
With record rainfall during January and February, the falls were at their most powerful and breathtaking. The roar of the water, the mist rising into the sky, and the endless rainbows dancing in the sunlight created a scene so magnificent that words struggle to do it justice.”
Our incredible guide, Des, encouraged us to visit the falls immediately upon arrival. His timing was perfect. The afternoon sun illuminated the mist, creating rainbow after rainbow across the landscape. It felt almost surreal.
That evening, we cruised along the Zambezi River, enjoying cocktails, a beautiful dinner, and unforgettable sightings of hippopotamuses emerging from the water as the African sun slowly dipped below the horizon.
The experiences continued the next day, with a traditional Boma dinner, where Africa once again surprised us. As we dined beneath the stars, an elephant quietly wandered through the area while hippos could be heard and seen nearby. It was one of those moments that reminds you that in Africa, nature is never far away.
The next morning brought a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls. Seeing this natural wonder from above was beyond anything I could have imagined. The scale, power, and beauty are simply overwhelming.
But perhaps the most moving experience of all was our elephant encounter.
Walking alongside these gentle giants in their natural environment touched my soul in a way I never expected. Their calm presence, intelligence, and grace created a connection that will stay with me forever.
Our time in Zimbabwe was brief, but it left a lasting impression on my heart.
Some destinations are beautiful.
Some are memorable.
And some change you.Victoria Falls is one of those rare places that does all three.
I know without question that I am being called back—not only for myself, but to share this extraordinary place with future travelers who are seeking something truly special.
Africa continues to surprise me, inspire me, and remind me why I return again and again.
And now…
