Arrive at the Johannesburg Airport. Go through passport control and customs, and check in for your flight to Cape Town. Upon arrival at the Cape Town Airport, be met by your driver/guide and transferred to your hotel in Cape Town, the Commodore Hotel, conveniently located on the famous Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Check into your standard room for 3 nights on Bed & Breakfast basis. Enjoy a free evening, with dinner on your own account.

Enjoy a day at leisure while you get over your long flight.

After breakfast, depart from your hotel with your private driver/guide. Travel along the beautiful coast to Hout Bay where you will visit to the Original T-Bag Designs, a local community project. Continue driving along the spectacular Chapman’s Peak. Visit Cape Point, the most south-western point of the African Continent. Walk to the top of the mountain and enjoy the beautiful view of the ocean and the surrounding area. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant overlooking False Bay, on your own account. After lunch visit the local African Penguin Colony at Boulders Beach. On your way back to town, stop in Simons Town, South Africa’s Naval Base, to visit the statue of “Just Nuisance” and hear the story about this legend. In the afternoon, visit the Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy this beautiful garden and the diverse selection of local plants and flowers. At the exit of the garden is a gift shop worth browsing through. Return to your hotel for a free evening. Dinner is on your own account.

Morning Half-Day City Tour – Table Mountain and Noon Gun

You will be collected from your hotel around 7:45 AM.

“After departing the hotel, we head for Table Mountain. Enjoy the crisp air and clear visibility as you reach the summit (weather permitting and cable car for own account). Our guide will point out the highlights of one of the world’s most famous views. After the decent, enjoy a scenic coastal drive through Clifton and Sea Point to the city center to Green Market Square. We stretch our legs with a walk through the Company Gardens. The tour continues with a drive past the Houses of Parliament, the City Hall, The Castle and Slave Lodge, before entering the “Bo Kaap”, also known as the Malay Quarter. The architecture in this area is typical of what Cape Town was like 200 years ago. We ascend Signal Hill to witness firing of the noon gun (except Sundays and Public Holidays). You will be dazzled by the diamond tour where we learn about the history of these sparkling gems before returning you back to your hotel.”

Later this morning you will be met and transfered to your hotel in the Winelands.

After breakfast, depart for a Full-Day Winelands Tour. Visit this beautiful part of the Western Cape and enjoy all it has to offer. Visit the Taal Monument in Paarl from where you will have beautiful views of the surrounding areas. Visit a local wine estate to taste some of their local cheeses and wines. Enjoy lunch at the local restaurant (on your own account). Also travel to Stellenbosch, South Africa’s second oldest town, to explore the shops and meander through this quaint town. Visit a Brandy Distillery for a tour and tasting. Return to your hotel for a free evening and dinner on your own account.

After an early breakfast, check out of your hotel and be transferred to the Cape Town Airport. Check in for your flight from Cape Town to Hoedspruit in the Greater Kruger Park. Upon arrival at the Hoedspruit Airport, be met by your game ranger and transferred in your open safari vehicle to the Kapama River Lodge in the Kapama Private Game Reserve. Check into your standard suite for 4 nights. Enjoy lunch and your first game drive that afternoon.

A typical day in the Game Reserve:

Each morning, expect an early wake-up call. Gather for refreshments before heading out at first light. The “big cats” may still be around after their night of hunting. Game drives are conducted in open game vehicles with your skilled ranger and tracker to find the animals of Africa for you to admire.

Between your morning and afternoon game drives, have some free time go on a guided walking safari, to relax or be treated at the local Spa. Late afternoon, convene for high tea, before departing for the day’s second African Bush Safari. Enjoy a sundowner drink along the way, get out of the vehicle to stretch your legs, and watch the sun set. Return to the lodge for dinner.

After your morning game activity and breakfast, check out of the lodge and be transferred to the Hoedspruit Airport to check in for your flight to Johannesburg. Upon arrival in Johannesburg, check in for your flight back to the U.S.A.
