Itinerary

Day 1JOHANNESBURG

Arrive into Johannesburg off your overnight flight from the USA.

You will be met air-side and assisted through immigration formalities and with the collection of your luggage.

From here you will be escorted into the arrivals hall to meet your driver for your transfer you to the hotel in a luxury sedan.

Day 2KIMBERLEY - Rovos Rail

Have the morning at leisure to relax and enjoy the hotel. Tours or a shopping trip to Sandton can be arranged directly.

Later in the day you will be transferred to Capital Hill to check in at 14h00 for the 15h00 departure to Cape Town on Rovos Rail.

Have the next two nights on the train all meals including all alcoholic and other beverages; 24-hour full room service and bar facilities; limited laundry service; excursions accompanied by a qualified tour guide (where applicable); entrance fees to places of interest.

Day 3KIMBERLEY - Rovos Rail

10h00 The train arrives in Kimberley. Passengers visit the Big Hole and the Diamond Mine Museum.
12h30 Depart Kimberley and proceed overnight via De Aar and Beaufort West to Matjiesfontein.

Day 4CAPE TOWN

08h15 Enjoy a visit to the historic village of Matjiesfontein.
10h30 The train departs for Cape Town via Touws River and Worcester.
18h00 Arrive at Cape Town Station’s Platform 24.

On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Enjoy an evening at leisure.

Day 5CAPE TOWN

After breakfast, depart from your hotel with your private driver/guide. Travel along the beautiful coast to Hout Bay and along the spectacular Chapman’s Peak. Visit Cape Point, the most south-western point of the African Continent. Walk to the top of the mountain and enjoy the beautiful view of the ocean and the surrounding area. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant overlooking False Bay, on your own account. After lunch visit the local African Penguin Colony at Boulders Beach. On your way back to town, stop in Simons Town, South Africa’s Naval Base, to visit the statue of “Just Nuisance” and hear the story about this legend. Your guide will drop you off at your hotel. Enjoy a free evening, with dinner on your own account.

Day 6CAPE TOWN

After breakfast, visit Table Mountain via the Cable Car (weather permitting), the World’s new Seventh Wonder, or visit Signal Hill (if weather does not allow visit to Table Mountain’s summit). Visit Jewel Africa for a diamond cutting demonstration. You will also find exquisitely unique hand-crafted jewelry pieces, authentic African craft, décor and gift items. Have a City Tour and see some of the places of interest in South Africa’s “Mother City” such as Bokaap before proceeding to the Groot Constantia Wine Estate, the oldest wine estate in South Africa, for a cellar tour and a wine tasting of some of their locally grown wines. You will have lunch at the local restaurant (on your own account). In the afternoon, visit Original T-Bag Designs in Hout Bay, a local community project. Return to your hotel for a free evening. Dinner is on your own account and can be enjoyed at the hotel or at one of the many restaurants on the V&A Waterfront which lies within easy walking distance.

Days 7 - 9SABI SAND PRIVATE GAME RESERVE

After breakfast, be transferred to the Federal Air Departure Lounge at the O.R. Tambo Airport. Check in for your flight to the Londolozi Airstrip. Complimentary Excess luggage storage is available at the Federal Air departure lounge.Upon arrival at the Londolozi airstrip, you will be met by your game ranger and transferred to the Londolozi Founders Camp located in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve. Check into your inter-leading Superior Chalets for 3 nights.

Enjoy lunch and your game drive that afternoon. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Spend the next 2 full days, enjoying this beautiful lodge and the Londolozi Private Game Reserve in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve.

A typical day in the Game Reserve: Each morning, expect an early wake-up call. Gather for refreshments before heading out at first light. The “big cats” may still be around after their night of hunting. Game drives are conducted in open game vehicles with your skilled ranger and tracker to find the animals of Africa for you to admire. Between your morning and afternoon game drives, have some free time go on a guided walking safari, to relax or be treated at the local Spa. Late afternoon, convene for high tea, before departing for the day’s second African Bush Safari. Enjoy a sundowner drink along the way, get out of the vehicle to stretch your legs, and watch the sun set. Return to the lodge for dinner.

PLEASE NOTE: On the flight from Johannesburg to the Londolozi Airstrip on Federal Air, all passengers are entitled to one free piece of checked “soft” luggage and one small carry on item – Max size 10″ x 12″ x 24″ with a maximum weight of 20kg (44lbs).

Please Note: ONLY Soft Bags are allowed on these flights since they are small aircraft and have limited space. Complimentary Excess luggage storage is available at the Federal Air departure lounge.

Day 10END OF ITINERARY

After your morning game drive and breakfast, be transferred to the Londolozi Airstrip for your charter flight back to Johannesburg. Upon arrival, collect your stored luggage, if any, at the Federal Air lounge and be transferred to the O.R. Tambo Airport Terminal to check in for your international flight to depart from South Africa.
