Itinerary

Day 1JOHANNESBURG

On arrival in Johannesburg, you will be met and assisted to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2 - 4SABI SAND GAME RESERVE

After breakfast, be transferred to the Federal Air Departure Lounge at the O.R. Tambo Airport. Check in for your flight to the Londolozi Airstrip. Complimentary Excess luggage storage is available at the Federal Air departure lounge.Upon arrival at the Londolozi airstrip, you will be met by your game ranger and transferred to the Londolozi Founders Camp located in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve. Check into your inter-leading Superior Chalets for 3 nights.

Enjoy lunch and your game drive that afternoon. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Spend the next 2 full days, enjoying this beautiful lodge and the Londolozi Private Game Reserve in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve.

A typical day in the Game Reserve: Each morning, expect an early wake-up call. Gather for refreshments before heading out at first light. The “big cats” may still be around after their night of hunting. Game drives are conducted in open game vehicles with your skilled ranger and tracker to find the animals of Africa for you to admire. Between your morning and afternoon game drives, have some free time go on a guided walking safari, to relax or be treated at the local Spa. Late afternoon, convene for high tea, before departing for the day’s second African Bush Safari. Enjoy a sundowner drink along the way, get out of the vehicle to stretch your legs, and watch the sun set. Return to the lodge for dinner.

PLEASE NOTE: On the flight from Johannesburg to the Londolozi Airstrip on Federal Air, all passengers are entitled to one free piece of checked “soft” luggage and one small carry on an item – Max size 10″ x 12″ x 24″ with a maximum weight of 20kg (44lbs).

Please Note: ONLY Soft Bags are allowed on these flights since they are small aircraft and have limited space. Complimentary Excess luggage storage is available at the Federal Air departure lounge.

Day 5PRETORIA

After your morning game drive and breakfast, be transferred to the Londolozi Airstrip for your charter flight back to Johannesburg. Upon arrival, collect your stored luggage, if any, at the Federal Air lounge and be transferred to your hotel in Pretoria for an overnight stay.

Day 6BLUE TRAIN

Early this morning you will be met and transferred to Pretoria Station.

06:30Register and check-in at The Pretoria Station Lounge. Guests enjoy pre-departure drinks. Welcome snacks will be served on-board the train

07:30Boarding starts. Butlers usher guests to their suites. Suite orientation done by butlers.
Boarding concludes at 08:00am

OFF-THE-TRAIN EXCURSION
(Weather & time-permitting)

17:10The Blue Train arrives at Kimberley Station.
Guests disembark and gather at the railway museum, from where they will be ushered to a bus, which transfers them to the Kimberley Open Mine Museum.

17:30Guests arrive at the Open Mine Museum
for a tour of the mine.
Guests are first taken to view interesting and historical sites. Guests are also taken onto an enclosed ramp on the edge of the Kimberly hole.

18:35Guests depart from the Open Mine Museum for Kimberley Station.
At Kimberley Station guests are greeted with a glass of sherry. The sherry glass engraved with The Blue Train logo is a memento for guests to keep.

19:10: The Blue Train departs Kimberley Station for the journey Southbound to Cape Town.
After this exciting tour, guests are welcome to refresh themselves and enjoy pre-dinner drinks served at any one of our lounges.

19:30-21:00: First sitting dinner

21:15: Second sitting dinner

Remember, dinner is an elegant affair and men are requested to wear a jacket and tie and ladies elegant evening wear.

Guests enjoy post-dinner drinks, Cognacs and Cuban cigars in the Club Car before retiring to bed

Day 7CAPE TOWN

07:00 – 10:00Breakfast is served on a first-come-
first-served basis.

On arrival into Cape Town, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a four night stay.

Day 8CAPE TOWN

After breakfast, visit Table Mountain via the Cable Car (weather permitting), the World’s new Seventh Wonder, or visit Signal Hill (if weather does not allow visit to Table Mountain’s summit). Visit Jewel Africa for a diamond cutting demonstration. You will also find exquisitely unique hand-crafted jewelry pieces, authentic African craft, décor and gift items. Have a City Tour and see some of the places of interest in South Africa’s “Mother City” such as Bokaap before proceeding to the Groot Constantia Wine Estate, the oldest wine estate in South Africa, for a cellar tour and a wine tasting of some of their locally grown wines. You will have lunch at the local restaurant (on your own account). In the afternoon, visit Original T-Bag Designs in Hout Bay, a local community project. Return to your hotel for a free evening. Dinner is on your own account and can be enjoyed at the hotel or at one of the many restaurants on the V&A Waterfront which lies within easy walking distance.

Day 9CAPE TOWN

After breakfast, depart from your hotel with your private driver/guide. Travel along the beautiful coast to Hout Bay and along the spectacular Chapman’s Peak. Visit Cape Point, the most south-western point of the African Continent. Walk to the top of the mountain and enjoy the beautiful view of the ocean and the surrounding area. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant overlooking False Bay, on your own account. After lunch visit the local African Penguin Colony at Boulders Beach. On your way back to town, stop in Simons Town, South Africa’s Naval Base, to visit the statue of “Just Nuisance” and hear the story about this legend. In the afternoon, visit the Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy this beautiful garden and the diverse selection of local plants and flowers. At the exit of the garden is a gift shop worth browsing through. Return to your hotel for a free evening. Dinner is on your own account.

Day 10CAPE TOWN

After breakfast, depart for a Full-Day Winelands Tour. Visit this beautiful part of the Western Cape and enjoy all it has to offer. We start our day in Stellenbosch, the heart of the Winelands, also South Africa’s third-oldest town. Next, we visit the Taal Monument in Paarl from where you will have beautiful views of the surrounding areas. Our next stop is at a local wine estate to taste some of their local cheeses and wines. Enjoy lunch at the local restaurant (on your own account). We end our day off in the Winelands at a local brandy distillery for a tour and tasting. Return to your hotel in Cape Town. Enjoy a free evening with dinner on your own account.

Day 10END OF ITINERARY

Today you will be met and transferred to Cape Town Airport for your flight to Johannesburg.
